AKSG reveals plan for astute implementation of 2017 budget

The Government of Akwa Ibom State has evolved a framework for smooth and judicious implementation of the 2017 Budget, despite lean resources available to the State.

The Special Adviser on Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ekong Sampson gave the hint while interacting with pressmen, shortly after the passage of the 2017 Appropriation Bill at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

Barrister Ekong Sampson expressed confidence in the managerial prowess of His Excellency, the Governor and the benefit the State stands to gain as he brings his experience to bear. “Governor Udom Emmanuel is a meticulous manager of resources; that is one thing that will give us advantage in implementing this budget”, he stressed.

Ekong Sampson also stated that Governor Emmanuel is committed to diversification of the economy through industrialization, thereby giving the State a good footing and poise for the post oil era.

The Honourable Special Adviser, a two-time member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly commended the 6th Assembly for timely passage of the budget. He said it was an indication of commitment to the interest of the State.

Barrister Sampson assured that the Executive was ready to partner the Legislature for smooth implementation of the 2017 Budget. He said the Executive will continue to promote partnership with other arms of the State Government towards the larger interest of Akwa Ibom people.

According to Sampson, the general interest of the State has remained most essential to the three arms of Akwa Ibom State Government and that, he added, has informed the cordial relationship between them overtime.
