Students unionism took a different look when female students across the country agreed to come under one umbrella called AkwaIbomite Emerges President of Nigerian Female StudentsNational Female Students Association of Nigeria.
In a stakeholders meeting held in Benue State, Comrade Idongesit Micah JP was unanimously elected as National President to pilot the affairs of the Association judging from her track records as the President, Akwa Ibom Female Students Association Worldwide.
The swearing-in ceremony which took place at the the Federal College of Education, Asaba was done by Barr. Uzor Igwe and witnessed by comrades across the country including Comrade, Martins Abebe JP, (Senior Personal Assistant to the Hon Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly on Student Affairs), Comrade Christian Onwugbolu, Comrade Tomi Wojuola, (Student Activist, Comr. Tijani Usman (NANS President who was represented by Comr. Godwin Ericherie National Director of Sport, NANS), Comrade Omofon Mark, (Vice SUG president Uniuyo), Comrade Ogbe Collins, (JCC Chairman Delta State), Comrade Onokpite Mamus, (JCC Secretary, Delta State), Comrade Fadilat Abdulsalif (Adamawa State polytechnic, Mubi), Comrade Adeola Adetunji (University of Ibadan, Ile Ife), Comrade Jubril,(Kogi State University), Okeoghene Anthony, (NANS Stakeholder), Iniobong Uko (NAUS VP South South), Comr. Ifeoma Sylvanus (Benue state Polytechnic), Comr. Suzzie Friday (College of Education, Mosogar) amongst many others.
The NFSAN President in her acceptance speech, thanked the students for the confidence reposed in her to lead them. She further stated that time has come for female students to rise to greatness because according to her, “we were created equally by God out of greatness”.
