The people of Ikot Ekpene LGA have said that the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties, Engr Etido Inyang is “a huge political asset and of staggering electoral value” to the PDP and the state at large.
This was contained in a media statement made by people of the area under the aegis of Youths Support Coalition (YSC).
The group reacted to publications on media by a group known as “IKEPEC”. The group had through its open letter urged Governor Udom Emmanuel not to re-appoint Engr Etido Inyang into the soon to be constituted exco.
But reacting, Youths Support Coalition said IKEPEC is a ghost group and should not be taken serious.
The group said the allegations leveled against Engr Inyang were baseless and false, adding that Inyang has performed his duties creditably well, empowered the people of Ikot Ekpene LGA while still remaining loyal to the Governor.
They thanked Governor Udom for his affection towards the area and his commitment towards turning Akwa Ibom to an industrial hub.
They re-affirmed their loyalty to the government of Udom Emmanuel, while commending Etido Inyang for “being an honest and faithful servant”.
The group urged the governor not to be distracted by the antics of anti-progressive elements, stating that people of Ikot Ekpene are satisfied with the public outing of Engr. Etido Inyang so far.
