A sociopolitical group, Akwa Ibom Youth Alliance Movement, has hailed the appointment of the trio of Obong Umana Okon Umana, Obong Nsima Ekere and Mr. George Frank, into federal boards and agencies.
Obong Umana was appointed as DG of Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone while Obong Nsima Ekere and Mr. Samuel Frank were appointed as Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Commissioner representing Akwa Ibom in the NDDC, respectively.
In a release signed by the group’s President, BOT Chairman and Secretary, Comrade Ofonime Akpan and Daniel Jack and Ubokudom Effiong, the appointment of the trio was described as well deserved and a confirmation that President Muhammadu Buhari has the interest of Akwa Ibom State at heart.
The group noted that the appointees being “patriots, true democrats, advocates of equity/ justice, tested and proven managers of materials and human resources”, they are fully confident that they will perform creditably.
Akwa Ibom people were therefore urged to eschew ethnic sentiments and offer overwhelming support to the appointees
