Hold on to your people- Paul Ekpo tells Okobo Chairmanship Hopeful

pix of chairAs the buildup to Local Government Election in the State gathers momentum, the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, Obong Paul Ekpo has advised a frontline Chairmanship Aspirant in Okobo Local Government Area, Prince Umoh Offiong to ensure he holds grip of his people in order to come out victorious at the polls.
Obong Ekpo who gave the charge on Wednesday when the Aspirant’s campaign team; Divine Grace paid  him a consultative visit in Uyo noted that for Prince Offiong to come out victorious in the forth coming Chairmanship election, it was imperative for him to have not only the acceptance of  Stakeholders of the area but the acceptability of the entire people of Okobo LGA.
He pointed out that with the caliber of people coupled with crowd of supporters in his campaign team and his blueprint for the people of Okobo, he has been persuaded to believe that he is not a bad ‘product’.
While promising to give the aspirant a level playing field, the Party boss maintained that the PDP have resolved that power belongs to the people thus charged Prince Offiong to consult widely including those he may perceive not to be his supporters.
He commended him for the respect shown his party, and intimated him that the PDP will always remain a party that he and his supporters will love to reckon with. He added “ May God bless you for the respect you show your party. Now there is much work to do. Go back home and generate more support from your people. Pray to God for him to set your political path.  When that is done, you have my support.”
Speaking earlier, a Woman Leader from Okobo LGA, Mrs. Emem Etebong offered insight to the fact that the people of Okobo through their desire to have a good person who leads them have placed Prince Offiong on leadership scale and have discovered that he is fitting for the top job. She explained that the frontline aspirant is of reputable a stock, hinting that his Uncle had been behind the building of Oron Stadium even when many had misappropriated the funds meant for the task, hence expressed optimism of the Chairmanship hopeful following the fine family pattern.

Ibok pointed out that the entire youths of Okobo were proud of Prince Offiong who he said has carried the image of the youths of the area in a way worthy to be reckoned with. He hinted that over 15 years the Aspirant have spent in the Banking sector, never has there been a time bad report is received about his conduct instead reports of selfless service to humanity and dedication to duty have been heard. He explained that with such enviable record, the people of Okobo stands a better chance to develop speedily if such a person is given the opportunity to serve.
Speaking on behalf of the Elders, Mr. Okon Enema noted that the Party will do Okobo people a great deal of good if zoning is allowed to take its course.  He pointed  out that it was time for Ekeya People to produce the Executive Chairman of Okobo LGA as zoning favours them. He maintained that when Prince Offiong is given a fertile ground to emerge, Ekeya people will feel happy to experience justice in the political scheme even as Okobo people will enjoy good leadership.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairmanship Hopeful of Okobo LGA, Prince Umoh Offiong thanked the State Chairman of PDP for the opportunity given him to show deep respect to his party through consultation. He explained that his intention is to give Okobo people a leadership they will be proud of even as he has a feasible blueprint to make his plans for the people come true. He pointed out that when he emerge the Chairman of the area, he was poised on working with the State Governor to ensure that his developmental plans for Okobo people come to fruition. He added  that in his administration, the party which he hails from (PDP) will be greatly supported and developed in Okobo LGA. While pledging continual loyalty to his party, he asked the PDP to give him the necessary support to emerge Chairman of Okobo and promised never to disappoint.
