JUST IN: Udom appoints Akpabio’s brother, Ibanga Akpabio as commissioner

Governor Udom Emmanuel has nominated Barr Ibanga Akpabio for the position of Commissioner in the state executive council.
Ibanga Akpabio is currently serving in the state exco of the Akwa Ibom State PDP as Deputy Chairman.
He was the Secretary of the State PDP in the era of Godswill Akpabio as governor.
TheMail reports that Barr. Victor Daniel Bassey has equally been nominated for the position of Commissioner.
The governor on Monday forwarded the names to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The names which were read on the floor of the House on Tuesday have been forwarded

to the House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Public Petitions for appropriate action.
As earlier reported by TheMail, the governor will drop two commissioners in a minor cabinet reshuffle. The names of the commissioners to be dropped are yet to be made known but according our Government House source, some nonperforming commissioners will make way for Akpabio and Bassey.
Meanwhile, Umana Sam Umana was nominated for the position of Chairman, State Secondary Education Board (SUBEB). He is to take the place of the late Imo Udobia who died few months ago.
