Nduese Essien charges new Eket PDP Exco on accountability

A political leader from Eket local government, Chief Nduese Essien has urged party faithful in the state to continue supporting the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel in his bid to transform the state into a business and commercial hub in the country.
Chief Essien who spoke while receiving the newly constituted local government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party in his country home in Eket, charged them to be at the vanguard of galvanize interest and support for the success of Governor Emmanuel as a product of Eket Senatorial District.
He said it was wrong for anyone to assume that Eket Federal constituency stakeholders would relent in their support to the governor, but advised the new party executives to work towards reconciling aggrieved members in order to fortify the strength of the party.
While commending the excellent manner in which the Emmanuel Mbong led executive has so far piloted the affairs of the party, Chief Essien tasked them to hold regular meetings with members of the party and to display accountability in their activities, especially through effective publicity of their programmes.
He said it urged them to see their emergence as an opportunity to display their worth in protecting the interest of the Eket people adding that it would serve as a stepping stone to greater responsibilities ahead.
The former Minister donated 500,000 to assist the party acquire a better secretariat complex and called

for the employment of permanent secretarial staff at the secretariat.
On his part, the transition chairman Frank Archibong who commended the Chief Essien for his fatherly role in the area, advocated an all inclusive approach in the running of the party to foster unity among party faithful.
He commended them on their election, and said that the party executive committee members were carefully elected following their antecedents in community service.
Responding, the party chairman Emmanuel Mbong, commended Chief Essien as one who is always serious about the growth and wellbeing of his people asserting that the love shown to the party by the former lawmaker has not been heard of in any other part of the state.
He thanked the Transition Committee Chairman for his support to the party and promised that several aggrieved members of the party reached, have indicated interest of coming back and the party is ready to welcome them back.
Obongiwaad Mbong pledged to support to the  governor in his commendable efforts to develop the state and urged the Niger Delta Avengers to accept the call for dialogue with the federal government so that there can be growth in the region.
Pledged accountability and assured that his leadership will always be susceptible to advise from the leaders and stakeholders in the state
