Remember us during state banquets, veteran musicians tell govt

IMG_0081Veteran musicians in Akwa Ibom State honoured Governor Udom Emmanuel on July 11,2016 as he clocked 50 years of age. The Veterans made up of musicians who have been singing for decades revealed that they decided to welcome the Governor to Club 50, as a means of encouraging him to keep providing Democratic dividends to all and Sundry.

Speaking on behalf of the veterans, King George Emah, a National PMAN stakeholder and performer since 1977, revealed that they decided not just to visit St Anthony’s Destitute home with gift items but also to perform evergreen tunes to the pleasure of the intimates.

He reminded the Government and people of the state that veterans were still active and should also be remembered during events and banquets.

Also Speaking, Dr Victor Idim aka Vidim Africa noted that it was a decision of the music veterans to bring joy to widows and orphans of the center on the auspices of the governor’s birthday to encourage the Governor while urging the masses to keep supporting the laudable programmes of the Deacon Udom Emmanuel led administration.

Musicians that performed included Chief Emmanuel Ntia who recently clocked 90 and has been a musician since 1956; Jimmy Akama of “Lagos I don come” fame, Okuku Aniekan Saforo, Chief Eddy Emmanuel of “Buy me lace” fame, Dr Uduak Akpan aka Ever Praise, Sir Wilker Jackson, Chief Victor Idim, PMAN boss Chaika Banton and a host of others.

They were also dance, comedy and music performances by the inmates of St Anthony’s Destitute Center.  Other dignitaries who graced the event with gifts included Engr Don Bassey (Shadecover), Mr Gideon Edet MD, G-Park Resort, Hon Essien Ndueso (SA to the Governor, Media), Hon David Sergeant(S.A to Governor, Entertainment Industry), Princess Donald Etiebet, Actress Aniebiet Francis and a host of others.

The cake session was directed by Boralicious Cakes with lots of Music from Ime Charlie’s Band and photography art by Motion Studios. More photos below…
