We want Commissioners who will work for Udom in 2019 – former Councillor

Following the dissolution of the State Executive Council by Governor Udom Emmanuel last Weekend, a former Councilor who represented Otoro Ward 3 in Abak Legislative Council, Hon. Elder Friday Archibong has said that those to be appointed into the yet-to-be reconstituted State Executive Council must be people of proven integrity and excellent track record who would work for the re-election of Mr. Udom Emmanuel in 2019.

Hon. Elder Archibong who spoke with our reporter at Abak on the dissolution of the State Exco, described it as a step in the right direction aimed at moving the State forward.

The Former Councilor specifically appealed that whoever would be appointed as a Commissioner from Abak Local Government Area must be credible, a man of proven integrity and of excellent track record who has large followers.

“Dissolution of Exco is part of democratic setting aimed at moving the state forward. I believe that His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, who has so far performed marvelously well, will appoint men of proven integrity who will join hands together with him and work for the success of the industrialization policy and his re-election in 2019”, Elder Archibong stated.

He pointed out that the people of Abak will be happy to see that whoever is appointed as a Commissioner from Abak is a Politician that has followers who would be able to mobilize and work for the success of Mr. Udom Emmanuel and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP) in 2019. “For Mr. Udom Emmanuel to win convincingly in Abak in 2019, who ever would be appointed as a Commissioner from Abak must be a grassroot politician who has pedigree and large followers. He must be competent to handle the portfolio that would be assigned to him”, the former Councilor reasoned.

Elder Archibong who is the Chief Executive Officer of FRIKPU Nigeria Limited, Abak thanked the State Governor for giving the people of Abak the first Deputy Governor in their history in the person of Mr. Moses Ekpo. He assured that the people of Abak will continue to support his government beyond 2019.

Elder Archibong used the occasion to commend the Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo for his strong support to the Governor which according to him, has resulted in the successes recorded so far in the State.

The Methodist Church Elder Prayed God to continue to give him good health, wisdom and enablement to discharge his duties effectively.

Elder Archibong however appealed to the State Governor to remember the people of Otoro Clan who have been support his government and have also been voting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in all the elections by constructing the only major road in the area, the Manta-Abak 10 Miles Road which he noted, had been in a very deplorable state over the year.

He assured that the people of the area would be very grateful to him if this is done as according to him, it would boost the economy of the area.

The former Councilor commended the immediate past Governor of the State and  Senator Minority Leader, Chief Godswill Akpabio for the legacy he left behind especially in the area of road construction which Akwa Ibom people are enjoying today.
