Social Action Congratulates Newly Inaugurated NDDC Board, Sets Agenda

Social Development Integrated Centre (Social Action) has congratulated the Chairman, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, and all the members of the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on their new appointments.
It could be recalled that President Bola Tinubu recently appointed the NDDC Board with a charge to usher in a new era of successful administration in line with the present administration’s mantra of Renewed Hope.
In a press statement made available to newsmen yesterday, Social Action said it sees the appointment as a welcome development and charged the newly appointed board members to focus on restoring the trust and confidence of the people of the Niger Delta region.
Social Action tasked the board to consider the appointment as a call to service and an opportunity to correct any irregularities in its operation.
Part of the statement reads “We want to believe that this administration would immensely benefit the people of the Niger Delta region who have suffered years of stagnated infrastructural growth and massive decline in human capital development.”
Social Action called on the NDDC Board, as a matter of urgency, to make public and implement the recommendations from the last forensic audit carried out on the Commission and ensure defaulters are brought to book and appropriated funds recovered.
The organisation charged the newly appointed NDDC board to prioritize transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in its administration, working with members of the communities and involving them in both the budgeting process and project implementation.
The statement noted that Social Action looks forward to a renewed NDDC engendering development to the Niger Delta region under President Tinubu’s administration.
