Honourable Clement Jimbo MHR, MNIQS, the Member Representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika federal constituency in the House of Representatives has earned for himself another title as the “Ambassador of Unity” in Abak, for achieving the herculean feat of successfully uniting political stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abak into one fold.
This was achieved on Friday, May 30, 2025, when he facilitated the inauguration of the Abak APC Elders Advisory Forum (AAEAF) in an enlarged gathering in Abak.
The Inauguration ceremony which was held at the Palmgrove School in Utu Abak, was performed by the State Chairman of the APC, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, who was represented by Dr. Tombere Joseph, the Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District of the All Progressives Congress.
Prior to the inauguration of the forum, reports gathered that factions were known to have existed within the Abak APC due to political interests, with many bearing dissenting voices, but Honourable Clement Jimbo was able to get them to sit at the same table and unite for a common course, which birthed the AAEAF.
Rep Jimbo, in his remarks, preached the message of unity and peace as a prerequisite for development and progress, urging the stakeholders to be steadfast as the era of ‘progress’ has come for the betterment of all.
The progenitor of the “Youthslot” movement spared a moment to appreciate the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, for giving his consent for the inauguration, describing Akpabio as a man with excellent spirit.
The State APC Chairman, Obong Ntukekpo, speaking through Dr. Tombere, charged members on obedience and cooperation, urging them to be worthy ambassadors of progress who would enjoy the benefits of their efforts in the APC through the leadership and direction of the Senate President.
He also lauded Rep Jimbo for being a peace-loving leader who has used his unique leadership disposition to unify the APC in Abak.
Dr. Ntukekpo inaugurated a trio to lead the elders forum members as unanimously agreed, and they are: Hon. Dr. Innocent Idiong, Chairman; Rt. Hon. Elder Friday Iwok, Deputy Chairman; and Hon. Dr. Ekopimo Ezekiel as Secretary.
