2023 guber: Enoidem insinuates OBA is frustrated
The Immediate Past National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr Emmanuel Enoidem has insinuated that a governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan is frustrated.
TheMail Newspaper can report that Enoidem made the snide comment on Friday while addressing youths of Eket Senatorial District to canvass for their support for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s preferred aspirant in the forthcoming PDP governorship primary, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.
“There are some other aspirants which the only thing they have in their hands is violence. The other day, they came to Eket and called Akwa Ibom youths dogs, are we dogs? Are the youths in Akwa Ibom State dogs? Are the men in Akwa Ibom State dogs? We cannot be dogs. Akwa Ibom has moved beyond violence-chants in elections.
“We are now consolidating on peace. So when you now see a man like that who is just frustrated to the extent of calling us dogs, know that he has failed the election already. We cannot afford to risk the peace we have. Because they know they have lost the election already, they are coming to cause violence at the primary”, he said.
It could be recalled that last weekend, Eket Senatorial District Youths held a rally in honour of Senator Bassey Albert Akpan. While addressing the gathering in a charged atmosphere, OBA was seen in a trending video saying “Who Born Dog?”
The comment by OBA, according to those in the government team is a violent chant, hence he should not be given opportunity to govern Akwa Ibom to avoid the return of terror to the state.
