Catholic priest to launch book on Covid-19

While many Christians will be out to their different church denominations to worship on the first day of the month of November 2020, the Catholic faithful of St Paul’s Parish, West Itam will be experiencing an emphatic Sunday with their priest-in-charge.
According to Ibrahim Babangida: “with each new book, the march of our national history takes a step forward. When one is present at a book launch, one is bearing witness to the birth of a new body of ideas, to the coming into being of another testimony of history”.
There shall be a new birth by Monsignor Michael Ekpenyong, the Priest-in-charge of St. Paul’s Parish, West Itam as he launches his new book titled ‘Corona Virus 19 and Doing Alright (The search for meaning)‘.
Corona virus is no longer alien to our society. Since it broke out from Wuhan city in China, it has rapidly spread to the whole world, causing chaos and pains to humanity as well as disrupting human daily activities. However, the search for a its vaccine is still on as many scholars and scientists are on it to create enormous awareness and the way to life while we battle the virus, and Monsignor Michael Ekpenyong is equally on the path to save humanity with his new book.
The book will be presented to the public on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the St. Paul’s Parish premises, Itam Junction, Itu LGA at 12 noon.
The book will be reviewed by the Vicar General Administration, Uyo Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Udoette. The event will be graced by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. John Ayah, Catholic Bishop of Uyo Diocese as the Spiritual Father of the Day, Prof. Augustine Udoh, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Uyo, chairman of the occasion. The principal father of the day will be H.R.M Edidem Clement F. Ekpenyong III HCSA, JP (Paramount Ruler, Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, AKS).
Fathers of the day will be H.R.H Etubom Donald Uboh (The Clan Head, Itam, Itu LGA) and Eteidung Gabriel Edet (Village Head, Afaha Ube Itam, Itu LGA). Mrs Agnes Eden and Dr (Mrs) Stella Nwosu will serve as mothers of the day.
Engr Jeffrey Nwizu (Director, B.B.C Bolts and Nuts) and Mr Jude Obiora (Director, Richway Supermarket) are expected to be Chief Launchers.
Other luminaries are Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem (Secretary, Akwa Ibom State Government/Chairman State COVID-19 Task Force), Dr Martin Uwah (Chairman Akwa Ibom State Primary HealthCare Development Board) and DIG Udom Ekpoudom (Rtd). Catholic faithful and the general public are invited to witness the new body of ideas towards the development of our society and the world at large.
