I will do better as Nsit Ibom Council Chairman – Prince Tommy

Worried about the leadership gaps in the local government administration, an astute entrepreneur, Prince Godwin Tommy has vowed to bring his wealth of leadership experience to better the lots of Nsit Ibom people, given the mandate as the next elected Chairman.

The Public Relations and Marketing expert while speaking with TheMail reporter on Saturday, July 6, 2024, opined that Local Government areas are instrumental to fostering the development of every state, hence, the quality of those that should man such offices should not be based on trial and error, but out of sheer competence and proven track record.

Prince Tommy hinted that his dreams and desires to see a better Nsit Ibom remain undaunted, having vied for the post of Vice Chairman of the Council in 2019 under the auspices of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP), but had to respect the party’s arrangement and elders decision has decided to embark on a “liberation move” in the forthcoming local government elections.

“In 2019, I vied for the post of Vice Chairman of the LGA. Surprisingly, the Party and stakeholders did not find me worthy to be in that position. Till today, they have not deemed it necessary to recommend me for any appointments or compensation, but that cannot deter me from pushing for my dream of seeing a better Nsit Ibom.”

The progenitor of GT Technologies Limited, Ephafresh International Foundation, and Digital Innovative Forum cited Education, Digital skills, Agriculture, and Real estate as sure pathways that are capable of upturning the fortunes of the people if properly harnessed.

” We have identified areas in which people can be given a hand to thrive and become bosses of their own, investment in our youths through education, digital skills, agriculture, real estate, and others are some of the ways to expose our people’s minds to have them stand strong on their own,” he stressed.

Tommy, the University of Uyo trained businessman-cum-PR and Marketing expert also expressed his readiness to launch a scholarship program for Akwa Ibom students who might be experiencing financial difficulties to give opportunities to intelligent but indigent students of tertiary institutions to embrace and have a smooth schooling experience, as well as real estate easy-buy scheme for women in Akwa Ibom state.
