Light with kayeon Onyeka poetry evening was what most people described as ethereal art in the most soul-engaging medium.

The show which was held in the blossoming city of Uyo on 2nd September 2023 was headlined by kayeon onyeka, an award-winning spoken word artist whose works transcend issues of governance, human rights, faith, and love, with the utmost goal of influencing change at personal, sub-national, national and global levels.

Kayeon has taken her words around Nigeria enough to grace events in the Presidential Villa, particularly on the occasion of the Nigerian 2023 Presidential inauguration: Investiture of National Honours and Official Handover of Transition Documents Ceremony. She has been featured on BBC Media Action and other prestigious global platforms.

Light with Kayeon is the first show hosted by the artist who was also the headliner of the show.

Showcasing eight of her original works with a smooth blend of live piano music and dance, Kayeon took her audience for a once-in-a-lifetime intimate experience, having them glued to their seats yet ecstatic as she delivered melancholic verses from poems like ‘Courage’ and ‘You’, and sent thrills through the crowd as she vibed through more upbeat poems like ‘Vibes and Jellof’ and ‘birthday’.

The crowd also watched with keen attention as she performed ‘Vote 4 You’ and ‘I Do’ with a fuse of theatre.
