Oku Ibom Ibibio Pledges Support For AKSU’s Development Goals

The Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr) Solomon Daniel Etuk, has promised to inject more life into the Akwa Ibom State University through various concerted efforts.


Ntenyin (Dr) Etuk, who is the Chancellor of AKSU, stated this while receiving the Vice – Chancellor of the Akwa Ibom State owned university, Professor Nse Udo Essien, alongside principal officers and other management staff during a courtesy visit to his Palace in Ikot Ukobo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, recently.


The chancellor reiterated the value of the university to the educational advancement and general development of the state and assured that he will always champion the interest of the institution so as to attract the required attention from the state government.  


He appealed to management staff to work in synergy with the Vice – Chancellor to achieve greater results, generate more revenue internally, and ensure a conducive work and learning environment for staff and students respectively as well as the entire university community so as to ultimately ensure that the institution competes favourably with others in the global scene.

The Vice – Chancellor had earlier mentioned some of the areas that require attention in the university and sought the support of the chancellor to improve the fortunes of the institution. 
In attendance during the visit were: the Deputy Vice – Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Umoren E. Umoren; Deputy Vice – Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ita Ewa – Oboho; the Registrar, Dr. Ebi G. Eno – Ibanga; the Bursar, Dr Jacob Eseneyen; the University Librarian, Dr. Nse Akwang; the Head of Obio Akpa Campus, Prof. Nkanikpo Ibok. Others were: the Head, Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Akaninyene Ibanga; Liaison Officer between the Chancellor and the University, Mr Charles Edet, and other staff of the Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Protocol.
