Oro Nation roundtable unveils Board of Trustees

The Oro Nation Leadership and Business Roundtable has announced the constitution of its Board of Trustees, which is saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the operation of the organization.
At a recently held virtual meeting of the group, the Roundtable unveiled a 8-man BOT, with a renowned financial consultant and legal practitioner, Barr. Antai Effiong as Chairman.
Other trustees on the board include an accomplished entrepreneur, Dr. Etim Joseph Inwang, a career marine engineer, Engr. Kininyi Edubio, Assistant Comptroller of the Nigeria Customs Service, Sir Eyo Inuekim KJW, a mechanical engineering expert, Mr. Bobby Onofiok, current President of the famous Uyo Club (1935), Dr. Kubra Uya, consummate Banker, Mrs. Irene Affi Hope-Dabor, as well as the serving Convener of the organization, Barr. Omen Bassey.
Communicating the development to newsmen, Publicity Secretary of the Roundtable, John Ntekim has spotlighted that patriotism, integrity, proven competence and outstanding commitment to community service formed grounds for the selection and subsequent appointment of members of the Board of Trustees to ensure effective management and success of the group.
The following are abridged profiles of the BOT members, Oro Nation Leadership and Business Roundtable:
Barr. Antai Effiong is a thoroughbred legal consultant, finance expert and philanthropist with over 30 years post qualification experience in legal, financial, oil and gas services, as well as public service. His key competences include Business Analysis, Investment Advisory, Legal Advisory and Documentation, Corporate Governance and Regulatory Compliance.
Barr Antai Efiong graduated with an LL.B (Second Class Upper) Degree from the University of Calabar in 1990, and was called to Nigerian Bar in 1991 after graduating from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in the same year. He obtained an MBA Degree in Marketing from Delta State University, Abraka in 1999, and followed it up with an LL.M. Degree in Commercial and Industrial Laws from the University of Lagos in 2002.
He started his career as a Legal Officer in Intercontinental Bank Plc in 1992, joined Manufacturers Merchant Bank Limited (now a member of Fidelity Bank Plc) in 1996 as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, before moving to African Express Bank Plc in 2000 as Company Secretary/Head, Legal Services Division.
In 2006, he founded Asquith Law Office, a firm of established legal practitioners engaged principally in corporate and commercial law services in the finance and energy sectors of the economy. In 2014, Antai joined Financial Advisory and Investment Consultants Ltd (an Abuja based international financial consultancy group with specialty in the Oil and Gas transactions) as the lead Consultant of its Legal and Regulatory Compliance Group.
He is a Member of several professional bodies including, the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), and the Nigerian Bar Association(NBA). He is also a Fellow and former Council member/Chairman of the Membership Committee of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN).
Barr. Effiong served as Transition Chairman, Oron Local Government Council between 2007 and 2008.
He is married with children.
From Udung-Oboho in Ubodung group of villages, Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area, Dr. Etim Inwang is a historian, business administrator, a biomedical practitioner and humanitarian with almost 3 decades of working experience in public and private sectors across Nigeria, Europe and United States of America.
He holds a Diploma in Public Administration, Bachelor of Art (B.A) Degree in History and International Studies, from the prestigious University of Calabar, Calabar, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Enugu State University of Technology and a Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanities from City University of New York, USA.
He is the Founder, Deacon Sarah Joseph Inwang’s Foundation; a non-governmental organization established in honour of his mother to offer assistance to the poor and needy by alleviating the sufferings of the less-privileged, awarding scholarship to indigent students and providing medical aid to rural dwellers, particularly widows, children, elderly and physically challenged persons across the country.
Dr. Inwang has bagged several awards including Most Dynamic Icon of the Year (2019), Best Chief Executive Officer and Police Friendly Personality of the Year (2011), Golden Award of Excellence by Biometric Information Research Institute, Honorary Member, Nigeria Military, 65 Battalion, Lagos and the chieftaincy title of ‘Uwana-Ubodung’ by the Supreme Youth Council of Ubodung Group of Villages. He currently chairs the Board of Directors of the three companies: Solo Medical Services Limited, Lagos and Abuja, St. Francois Medical Central, Lagos and Abuja and Rolsol Integrated Networks Limited, Lagos and Abuja
Dr. Etim Joseph Inwang is married to his beloved wife and blessed with children. 
Engr. Kininyi Edubio is a first-rate Chief Marine Engineer certified by the Singapore Maritime Academy. He is a thoroughbred professional with 25 years of cumulative industry experience and is roundly exposed having worked across continents of the world with both private and public sector exposure.
With a National Diploma (ND) in Marine Engineering from Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and a Masters Degree from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Engineer Edubio is a certified Specialised Vessel Inspector and Marine Surveyor.
Having been variously trained across Africa, Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East, he holds several professional certifications from reputable institutions across the globe.
Engineer Edubio currently serves as Assistant Director, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) in charge of Ship Accident Investigation. He is also an External Examiner for professional competence examination in Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, where he has taught Marine Engineering (pro bono) for years.
He is Member, Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), London, Vice President Alumni of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, President Old Students’ Association, Senior Science School, Ndon Eyo, Onna Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State etc.
Engr. Edubio is married with kids and is a devoted Christian.
Sir Eyo Inuekim (Knight of John Wesley) is Assistant Comptroller of the Nigeria Customs Service at PTML Port, Apapa, Lagos. He is Past Public Relations Officer, Onne Port, Rivers State, President, Fortune Club International and a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt.
Cut out for community service and social engineering, Sir Inuekim has is disposed to volunteering leadership, efforts and resources in the strengthening of institutions to engender social welfare. This disposition has earned him several leadership positions in sociocultural organizations such as the Oron Union (founded 1925) where he previously served as President General.
He has been conferred with chieftaincy titles by traditional institutions in recognition of his individual strides in society building. He holds the chieftaincy titles of Okete Okete Oro, Otuekong Ibesiko Asutan and Mfe of Ebughu Clan, and is a BOT member, Obio Mkparawa, Lagos.
He is President of Men Fellowship, Christ Methodist Church, Aguda Surulere, Lagos and Patron, Boys Brigade, Methodist Church Nigeria, D/Line, Port Harcourt. He is also a Fellow, Men Fellowship, Methodist Church Nigeria, Archdiocese of Port Harcourt.
Sir Inuekim is married with four children.
Mr. Bobby Otu Onofiok is Managing Partner, Bokano Nig. Ltd. an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Civil Works) Company; A company set up in 2012 to provide engineering solutions to the upstream sector of the Oil & Gas Industry, with offices in Abuja and Warri. Prior to establishing Bokano, he worked as a Process Engineer with Archer Daniel’s Midland (ADM) in Memphis TN and Albany, Ga, where he helped develop P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and managed a peanut oil processing plant with a 24/7 running capacity.
Currently, he serves as Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA (AKISAN) and is also the National President of Oron Development Union (ODU), USA.
Mr. Bobby Onofiok holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Uyo, Nigeria and Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta respectively. He is Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Member, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Mr. Onofiok is married to Kasang Onofiok and they have two beautiful daughters; Eno and Ama.
Dr. Ku’ubra Uya is current President, Uyo Club (1935) and his work experience cuts across a variety of private and public service engagements. Currently serving as Director, Under Scrutiny Data Services, a change management enterprise, he hitherto worked extensively in the Social Justice Advocacy, Youth Development, Social Investment, Political Organisation and Governmental fields.
Between 1995 and 2002, Ku’ubra served successively as Manager, Administration and Finance of Nigeria Youth Aids Programme (NYAP) and Director, Administration and Finance of Gender and Development Action (GADA), Lagos.He also served as Project Manager for the Collage on Arts against Torture for Medical Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims and United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Lagos.
He is former Advisor and Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State Chapter (2006 – 2007) and former Special Assistant, Planning, Research and Strategy to the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory Administration (2007 – 2008).
Ku’ubra holds a PhD degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Uyo, MA in Peace and Conflict Studies (Uyo), PGD in Peace and Conflict Studies (Uyo) and HND in Accountancy from the Polytechnic of Calabar).
He has been conferred with a medal of honour number F.H.9797 of Political Warfare Bureau, National Development Course 96’, Ministry of National Defence, Taiwan, ROC. He
is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Ku’ubra has been actively engaged in social service at communal level, including serving as Akwa Ibom State Chairman, CLO (2003-2006) and Member, Board of Trustees of ESSU NLAP ORO (ENO).
Mrs. Irene Affi Dabor is a consummate Banker with over 25 years’ experience with specialized skills in end to end Business Development, Customer Service, Treasury & Investment Banking, Retail Banking and Relationship Management to diverse-industry clients in Nigeria. Irene has held several managerial positions in the Banking Industry and currently, the Regional Head in Consumer Banking of Ecobank Nigeria Limited, FCT and North Business Region. She is indisputably a work life balance expert.
She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Human Resource Management & Development from University of Leicester, United Kingdom and Master Programme Certification in Customer Service from the Customer Service Training Institute, New York, USA.  She also holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration (HND) and Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA).
She is an Honorary Senior Member (HCIB) of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Finance & Control of Nigeria (CIFCN), also a Fellow of Institute of Information & Strategy Management (IISM) and a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Customer Service & Trade Management of Nigeria (ICSTM).  Irene is also a full member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).
With averred determination to serve her community, she ran for and was elected the current Vice President 2 of Oron Union, Abuja Branch in 2020. 
Irene Hope-Dabor is a mother to 3 dazzling girls.
Omen Bassey is a very passionate community organizer, social crusader and social entrepreneur. He has been variously trained in Law, Journalism, Public Relations, Branding, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Corporate Governance in the University of Uyo, the Nigerian Law School, International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) and School of Media, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.
He has worked as Clerical Officer, Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, Legal Officer, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Solicitor, Shalom Chambers, Acting Editor, Radar Newspapers, Special Assistant on Public Relations/General Administration to the Chairman, Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Council, Personal Secretary to the Chairman, Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Council, Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Council etc.
Omen’s business interests span finance, automobile,  farming and food processing. He holds strong views on the subjects of leadership, service, ethics and governance. He advocates people oriented leadership and committed followership.
He has devoted his time to community service, serving at different times as – Publicity Secretary, Oron Union, Secretary, Oro Think Tank, Secretary General, Essu Nlap Oro, National Secretary, Nlap Isong Akpakip Oro, Director of Socials, Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN), University of Uyo Chapter,  National President, National Association of Urueoffong/Oruko Students (NAUOS), President, National Association of Urueoffong/Oruko Students (NAUOS), University of Uyo Chapter, Convener, Oro Nation Leadership and Business Roundtable, among others.
He holds the membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Chartered Institute of Loans and Risk Management (CILRM) and Association of Professional Negotiators and Mediators (APNM).
