Student of TopFaith School, Mkpatak Graduates with 9A1s in WASSCE, 340 UTME

Miss Orevaoghene Whiskey, a student of Topfaith International Secondary School, Mkpatak, Akwa Ibom State, who made 9A1s in the recently released West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), bows out of secondary school education in style, leaving behind stunning academic milestone.
In the 19th Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremony of the school held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, the Chairman, Board of Governors of Topfaith Schools and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Topfaith University, Mkpatak, Dr Emmanuel Abraham extolled the Topfaith Class of 2023 for their resilient spirit, diligence dedication to their studies, commitment to and living by the Topfaith philosophy of academic excellence in internal and external examinations and competitions.
Dr Abraham, in his speech, specially saluted Miss Orevaoghene Whiskey, an NNPC/SNEPCo Cradle-to-Career (NC2C) Scholar, who emerged as the Valedictorian of her class. Dr E. T. Abraham described Miss Whiskey as a personification of academic excellence, an outstanding symbol of character and work and a pleasure to teach, direct and counsel.
As further highlighted by Dr Abraham, Miss Orevaoghene Whiskey began her journey of setting achievement records when she emerged the national overall champion in the 2022.
InterswitchSPARK4.0 Science Quiz Competition. Oreva scored 340 points in the 2023 JAMB-UTME, 8.5 out of 9 points in IELTS and crowned everything up by scoring 9A1s in the 2023 WASSCE. Apart from other prizes in cash and gift items won by the young scholar, the Board of Governors, through the Chairman, Dr Abraham, presented to Miss Whiskey the $1000-equivalent cash prize instituted by the Board for any student in the school that makes all 9A1s in WASSCE. It should be recalled that last year, Valour Mbre Inyang, the Valedictorian of the 2022 Class, clinched the same prize for achieving all 9A1s in the 2022 WASSCE and emerging the second best in the country in the examination.
Many other graduands who made 7A1s and 6A1s in the 2023 WASSCE as well as other high performers in the 2022 Cambridge International Examinations were equally honoured. Miss Anita-Mary Onyekpe was specially commended for not only scoring straight 5A-stars in all 5 subjects in the 2022 Cambridge International Examination, but coming out the best and highest scorer in Nigeria in physics and chemistry, winning the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman on the 2023 Graduation/Prize-Giving Ceremony, Rev. Engr. (Dr) Paul Kalu Okpara congratulated the graduands and charged them to live dependent on God, exhibiting all the principles of excellence they have been indoctrinated into at Topfaith School.
The Valedictorian, Miss Whiskey Orevaoghene, in her farewell speech, appreciated the school management for consciously putting programmes in place to groom young people for excellence. She thanked her teachers, parents and friends for the support, care and nurturing the Topfaith Class of 2023 received.
Also present at the occasion were the Pro-Chanellor of Topfaith University, Prof. Akaneren Essien; the Registrars of the University of Calabar and Topfaith University –Mr Gabriel Egbe and Mr Leo Ekpene respectively. the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Education, represented by Mrs Ekpo –the Director, Secondary and Higher Education. Others in attendance included the Paramount Ruler of Essien Udim LGA –Akwa Akuku, Obong Cosmus Okon Akpan, Akwa Akuku I of Annang Land; the Executive Chairman of Essien Udim LGA, Hon. Anthony Luke Udoh; and many others.
In her vote of thanks, the Principal of the school, Mrs Nsongurua Augustine, thanked participants and wished the graduands success in their academic life and future endeavours.
