Transition Monitoring Group, Akwa Ibom Chapter Inaugurated

Foremost election monitoring group, Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) has been inaugurated in Akwa Ibom State.

The inauguration which took place on Monday, September 5, 2022 at the Community Partners for Development Conference Hall, Uyo witnessed the inauguration of a five-member Coordinating Committee after elections.

The Akwa Ibom State Coordinating Committee is headed by the Executive Director of Youth for change initiative, Amb. Peace Edem as State Coordinator.

Other members of the Coordinating Committee are Emem Inyang who will serve as Deputy State Coordinator (Akwa-Ibom State South Senatorial District), Edidiong Enang, Deputy State Coordinator (Akwa-Ibom State North West Senatorial District), Felicia Robert, Deputy State Coordinator (Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District), and Dinah David of Policy Alert who will serve as the team Secretary.

Inaugurating the executives, the Zonal representative of TMG, Barr. Agatha Osieke charged the executive members to work as a team in order to attain the ideals of the body.

In his acceptance speech, the State Coordinator, Amb. Peace Edem thanked members for the confidence reposed in him to earn him the mandate of serving as State Coordinator.

He promised to carry along members by running an all inclusive organisation, rebuilding partnership with stakeholders as well as other relevant agencies in the development sector.

Edem noted that the leadership will make all necessary efforts to bring together all members in order to work as a team toward moving the organisation forward and most importantly mobilise citizens to demand for accountability in order to choose the right leaders toward the 2023 general election.

The leadership pledged to uphold an already established goodwill and leverage on the relationship members of the leadership enjoy within the civic space.
