2023 guber: I will sustain development agenda of current government – Akan Okon

Mr. Akan Okon, the immediate past Commissioner for Economic Devepement and Ibom Deap Sea Port, has assured that he will sustain the development agenda of Governor Emmanuel Udom led administration in Akwa Ibom State when given the opportunity to serve the state as governor.

Mr Okon who resigned his position in the state executive Council to actualaise his governorship aspiration in the 2023 general eletion, told delegates and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in Udung-Uko, Mbo and Urue Offong-Oruko that having served in six different ministries in the state, he is in advantage position to better appreciate the enormity of the development needs of the state.

The governorship aspirant who recently addressed the delegates separately in the various chapter offices in their LGA’s said that he will provide the best solutions to the challenges facing every sector in Akwa Ibom state when given the opportunity to serve as governor.

Mr. Okon who had served as commissioner in the Finance, Economic Development, Housing and Urban Renewal, Special Duties, Aviation Development, Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, thanked God Almighty for using Governor Udom Emmanuel to the best of leadership training in the course of serving as commissioner

He particularly assured the people of Mbo Local Government that the issues of their status as oil producing community will be be addressed as well as other development need of the area.

Mr Okon said the completion of the Ibom Deep Seaport will bring a total economic turn around in Oro communities and the state in General.

While still insisting that he will continue with the development agenda of the present administration hinged on the three gateways land, air and Sea, he said he will ensure improvement in security and the ease of doing business in the State.

The govership aspirant however thanked the people for warm reception accorded as they had turned out in their numbers to welcome him.
