2027 Election: Obidient Movement Strategizes Peter Obi’s Victory in Akwa Ibom

The Obidient Movement, a Nigerian political movement centered around Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate has announced modalities it has put in place to secure victory for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.
Key among the strategies the group said will make Peter Obi win the 2027 election is the launch of its political campaign tagged ‘Go Get Your PVC’ and ‘Get Organised – Make Election Rigging Difficult’ (GO-MERD).
Addressing a press conference in Uyo on Thursday, the State Coordinator of the Movement, Dr Ben Smith said with the GO-MERD campaign, victory was certain for Peter Obi come 2027.
Smith said through the campaign, Obidients would mobilize people into voting blocs and work for the victory of Peter Obi who he said has demonstrated enough capacity and commitment to protect Nigeria from collapse.
The Coordinator said through the strategy they indeed to address the lapses that hindered Peter Obi’s election in the State during the 2023 election.
“One of the lapses we noticed was that we did not have unit party agents. Now, we will have it across all levels”, Smith said.
He added ” Vote buying was another issue. What we are doing against vote buying is voter education that exposes the dangers of vote buying. Moreover, we have set other machineries in place to counter vote buying. We have our strategy that won’t be exposed and they will be shocked at what they will see at the polling unit.”
The Coordinator said a new Nigeria is possible if everyone is committed to ensuring that the right people are elected into political offices.
He asked all adults to be part of the electoral process by registering and obtaining their voter cards to enable them elect the right leaders.
He said, “Today, as we launch the GO-MERD Campaign here in Akwa Ibom State, know that GO-MERD means Get Organised – Make Election Rigging Difficult. GO-MERD is revolutionary because it places the burden of ensuring electoral integrity in your hands. GO-MERD allows you to take ownership of the electoral process.”
The coordinator announced that the group has opened a registration portal “https://member.obidients.com/voting-bloc/m5816pun,” to enable both prospective and old members to register and join a voting bloc or create one to enable them enrol at least 100 persons per unit.
Smith who accused successive administrations of failing to better the lot of the masses who have continuously been deceived with false promises explained that the campaign is meant to discourage such fake political promises especially during electioneering campaigns.
He added “The polling unit is our battleground. Get Your PVC & GO-MERD Akwa Ibom State. This is your chance. If you just turned 18, go and register. If you have lost your PVC, this is the time to replace it.
“If you have relocated, this is the time to transfer your voting unit to the new location. If you already have your PVC, guard it like your life depends on it because truly, it does”.
