Innocent Udoidiong hails Clement Jimbo on election victory
More individuals and groups have continued to congratulate the member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly, Hon. Clement Jimbo, of the All Progressives Congress.
Jumbo polled 22, 225 votes to defeat the incumbent, Mr Aniekan Umanah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 20,793 votes.
The latest of such congratulatory messages comes from an England-based scholar, Innocent Udoidiong.
The message was contained in a press statement by Udoidiong, titled ‘Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Has a New Dawn’and made available to newsmen.
In his message, Udoidiong, who if the President of Association of Nigerian Professionals in United Kingdom, charged the people of the area and indeed Akwa Ibom people to rally round Jimbo, whom he described as young, promising and people-friendly, in order to able to tackle the enormous challenges confronting the area due to what he called ‘below average performance, selfishness and ineptitude of those who represented the constituency in the past’.
Udioidiong, an indigene of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, who is a philanthropist who has used his NGO, Innoccent Udoidiong Foundation to touch lives of vulnerable persons in different parts of the state, however tasked Hon. Jimbo to ensure he caters for employment needs of the teeming unemployed youths from the federal constituency, saying this would help to reduce over-dependence on politics and praise-singing by the youths.
He further praised the security agencies for their determination to ensure that the election went on as smoothly as possible despite being declared inconclusive the first time, and the Independent National Electoral Commission for the successful conclusion of the exercise despite the initial challenges encountered.
Udoidiong added that he looked forward to working with the lawmaker and other progress-minding individuals from the Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency for the peace, security and development of not just the area, but the entire Akwa Ibom State.
