Adiakpan Bags National Award for Changing Women, Children Narratives in Nigeria

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Dr. Ini Adiakpan has been bestowed with a ministerial meritorious award of excellence for her outstanding support towards changing the narratives for women and children in Nigeria.
The award which was bestowed by the National Council on Women’s Affairs was given at the 23rd Regular National Council Meeting On Women Affairs held in Calabar, Cross River State on August 21-24,2023.
Presenting the award, the permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs Monilola Udoh commended Dr. Adiakpan for standing out among her contemporaries in supporting women and children.
While charging her to do more, Udoh called on other women in positions of authority to emulate Dr. Adiakpan.
Dr Adiakpan who also doubles as the Dean of Women Affairs Commissioners in Nigeria in her acceptance speech said the award is a commitment to greater tasks in furthering the cause of humanity. She assured that she will continue on the path and encourage others to support women and children in everything they do.
Meanwhile, the event was organized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare Cross River State with the theme “Gender Equality, Bridging the Social Inclusion Gaps for Economic Development.”
