Akwa Ibom House of Assembly reinstates suspended Uyo Chairman

Elder lmoh Okon, the suspended Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council has been reinstated by the House of Assembly at today’s plenary.
This follows the report of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
His suspension followed series of petitions written against him by some Councillors and other elected officials in the council.
He has however agreed to follow all stipulated financial guidelines for Local Government Councils in the state.
He has also been ordered to ensure that all financial entitlements for each of the elected officials be paid before the end of their tenure and evidence of such payments should be forwarded to the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
