ARISE Agenda to be implemented in Sports sector, says Monday Uko

The Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko has given the assurance that the ARISE agenda of Pastor Umo Eno administration would be implemented in the sports sector for optimal development.
Sir Uko gave the assurance today during a meeting with stakeholders in the sports sector at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo.
The commissioner stated that his return to the ministry would open new vistas while past achievements would be consolidated.
Sir Uko stated that the ministry will continue to push forward in order to have the desired results and solicited cooperation and prayers of all to succeed.
The commissioner called on the stakeholders to support the governor, Pastor Umo Eno to translate his ARISE Agenda blueprint in the sports sector to concrete reality.
He Urged players and athletes to use the platforms provided for them to excel even as he charged the coaches and other administrators to key into the new era.
Chairman of Akwa United FC, Elder Paul Bassey described sports as a pillar and driver for youth development.
Elder Bassey welcomed the commissioner back to the ministry, saying his second coming is a new dawn which will catapult rapid progress and turnaround.
On his part, the Chairman, Coaches Association of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Coach Daniel Umoette and others while commending government’s efforts in building infrastructure, appealed for improvement in the welfare of athletes and managers for sustained development.
