CIF, ActionAid Launch Portal to make Public Information, Financial Documents of LGAs in Akwa Ibom Accessible

Clement Isong Foundation in partnership with ActionAid Nigeria have launched a portal that will make public information and fiscal documents of the local governments in Akwa Ibom State more accessible to the public.
The Portal is My LGA Gov Track domiciled in the official website of Clement Isong Foundation.
Introducing the portal to the public last week at the Day-2 of the Institutional Strengthening and Agenda Setting Policy Dialogue with Akwa Ibom Local Government Leaders held by Clement Isong Foundation in Uyo, the Mail Officer of Clement Isong Foundation, Utibe Ekanem said the portal has the brief of each of the 31 local government areas in the State, their Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocation, their campaign promises and level of implementation. He explained that the portal has also created an avenue where citizens can ask questions and feedback given.
On his part, the Executive Director of Clement Isong Foundation, Elkanah Oluyori said the idea of the portal is to make public information like budget, development plan of local government areas, monthly allocation received every, plans for each local government administration more accessible to the public.
Oluyori said this will be the instrument that the public will use to track the performance of each local government administrator thus becoming the basis for reelection.
He added ” You simply cannot ask me to reelect you if you failed to do what you promised me to do. The portal will also house the demand charter especially that the youths have made. In the process, we will see how the local government administrations make their public information accessible to citizens.”
