Doctor sacked by A’Ibom Govt as State Epidemiologist emerges NMA National Spokesman

Dr. Aniekeme Uwah, an Uyo-born physician has emerged as the National Publicity Secretary of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
The election of the body of physicians took place today in Abuja.
Dr. Aniekeme Uwah was sacked under controversial circumstances by the Akwa Ibom State Government as State Epidemiologist for allegedly failing to do the government’s bidding of suppressing testing for Covid-19 in the state.
He served as NMA Chairman in Akwa Ibom between 2016-2018.
Uwah is a reputable epidemiologist who led mission work to Liberia during the Ebola outbreak.
