Health Workers Shine at Akwa Ibom Workers’ Day Celebration, Laud Governor Umo Eno’s Initiatives”

The Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Akwa Ibom State Council, made a remarkable appearance at the 2025 Workers’ Day celebrations, showcasing their organization and cooperation.
Led by Comrade Godwin Archibong, the union emerged second in the march past competition, dressed in black trousers and red t-shirts.
In an interaction with newsmen at the sidelines of the event, Comrade Archibong expressed gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for his efforts in improving the health sector, including reconstructing dilapidated hospitals, building new ones, paying allowances to health workers, and ensuring prompt payment of salaries. “We want to appreciate the Governor for doing so much in the health sector of Akwa Ibom State,” he said.

The union chairman urged fellow workers to support Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, citing his achievements for Akwa Ibom workers. “All workers should support Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda and his administration because he has done well for Akwa Ibom workers,” he said.
Archibong also extended greetings to workers worldwide, saying, “Happy International Labour Day to every worker globally.” The union’s participation in the Workers’ Day celebration highlighted their commitment to their profession and appreciation for the state government’s support.
