Infrastructural Renaissance in Fed Poly Ukana Excites NANS
…As Rector Gets Vote of Confidence
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee – Akwa Ibom Axis has said they are excited over what they described as unprecedented and massive infrastructural turnaround currently taking place at Federal Polytechnic, Ukana.
This was made known recently by the Chairman of The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee – Akwa Ibom Axis, Comrade Faith Paulinus.
According to a Press Statement from the Association, the Chairman said owing to development witnessed in the institution of learning, on behalf of the leadership of NANS and all Nigerian Students in Akwa Ibom State, the Association finds it important to pass a vote of confidence on the Dr. Uduak Ukekpe led management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana.
The Statement noted that the Chairman in company of the leadership of the organized students movement in Akwa Ibom State who recently inspected the infrastructural turnaround were delighted by the transformative nature and tempo of Dr. Ukekpe’s leadership of the Polytechnic as its Rector in the last two years.
The Statement said the renaissance in facilities recorded in two years include completed Engineering Complexes, workshops and lecture halls fully equipped with state-of-the-arts learning facilities to cater for the Civil, Electrical and Computer Engineering courses, a massive library complex with multiple toilets, reading sections and e-learning capabilities.
Others outlined are a Science Laboratory Technology complex, a fully equipped health centre with laboratory, theatre, spacious wards and OPD, a large administrative building donated by the Akwa Ibom State Government, an Entrepreneurial Development Center donated by Sen. Godswill Akpabio, School of Environmental Studies complex, perimeter fencing among other ongoing construction works.
The Statement adds ” It is on this note, after a careful review of the findings made at the Closeout Campus Assessment Tour led by the Chairman of NANS to the Polytechnic, that the leadership of all Nigerian Students in Akwa Ibom State has passed a vote of complete, unshaken and unalloyed confidence on Dr. Uduak S. Ukekpe, Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ukana and his management team and further declare that the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana is in safe and productive hands.”
