CP Eribo assumes office as Akwa Ibom’s new Commissioner of Police
CP Joseph Eribo has assumed office as the new Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command.
CP Eribo was posted to Akwa Ibom last week by the Police Service Commission (PSC). Initially, CP Miller Dantawaye was announced as the new police boss for Akwa Ibom, but the posting was rescinded same day by the PSC, with CP Eribo being unveiled as the substantive CP for the state.
He takes charge as the 33rd Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom, replacing the Late CP Waheed Ayilara who died in Lagos during a prostate cancer surgery.
CP Eribo who hails from Oredo in Edo State arrived the state on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
He holds a B.A (Hons) degree in Linguistics from the University of Benin, LLB from the University of Calabar; BL, Law School, Abuja and LLM from the Lagos State University.
He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 1994 and has grown through the ranks.
Before his redeployment to Akwa Ibom, Eribo was Police Commissioner in Taraba State Command.
