I sacrificed my senate ambition for Etinan Federal Constituency to produce governor – Paul Ekpo

Former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo has given a subtle clue on why he withdrew from the Uyo Senatorial District Senate race.

Speaking during the PDP sensitization tour for Etinan Federal Constituency held on Tuesday, Ekpo said he is a true party man and had to make sacrifices in order for the federal constituency to produce the next governor come 2023.

“I am a true party man, the message that the State Chairman of the party brought here, is a message of sacrifice. We talked about zoning, we talked about alignment and we talked about re-alignment. And politics is an engagement, to engage people you must discuss with people, you must have a buy-in. I am standing here as an evidence of a buy-in for Etinan Federal Constituency to produce a Governor of this state come 2023.

“So that’s a true party man, I had the privilege as the State Chairman of the party, I also sat when decisions were taken and people sacrificed for the party to continue to win, so if it is my turn to sacrifice why would I not sacrifice.”
